Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Usually, in the trade industry, many enter the workforce without formal qualifications. In later stages, there comes a time when you may need a formal qualification.

RPL is the process that acknowledges the skills and abilities that you have built up via prior study, which includes both formal and non-formal learning, along with work experience and volunteering. Through RPL on specific units, you can receive your qualification without having to repeat the same learning that you’ve already experienced.

You’ll need to provide evidence to support your application. This may include documents such as a report or a portfolio of work samples, or evidence of assessment activities, such as work observations or interviews. We connect you to training providers to obtain RPL.

Many do RPL in the following courses

  • Certificate IV in Cookery
  • Diploma of Hospitality
  • Diploma of Business
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
  • Certificate III in Bricklaying and Block laying
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
